I'm shifting all "Superman Returns" talks here, so we can rave, rant, poke fun, and worship the movie without caring for those who haven't seen it yet.
L and I were talking about the whole Superman series a few days back, and he reminded me what happened in Superman 2. For those of you who haven't seen it, let's just say Superman became human, then got "lucky" with Lois Lane, then had to become Superman again to fight off some evil Kryptonians, then kissed Lois and made her forget the whole thing ever happened!
I wonder what Lois was thinking months after Superman left... "Why am I pregnant? What the hell happened to me?... NO WAY!"
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."
The following was posted on the other thread. Thought I'd try to take a stab at it:

. . .1. superman draws his power from the sun, right? (do other stars count?) so he went to see his home planet, which was in another galaxy. did he not get weak from lack of solar energy? (given that other stars are light years away...) . . .
Superman gets his abilities from our yellow sun. When he visited the remains of the planet Krypton, he had no powers. He's not invulnerable, can't fly, no heat vision, etc. Think the <?> solar system where Krypton is located has a sun with a different colour. There could even be more than one.
But I could be wrong. If I am mistaken, please correct me.
Has anyone been able to watch the movie on an IMAX screen? How was the 3D plane crash sequence?
- That's one tough costume. Considering that Superman went to space and re-entered the Earth's athmosphere at lest five times the whole movie, whoohah! NASA will want that material now.
- Lois Lane is one tough chick. If I were tossed around inside a plane falling at that speed, I'd be dead by now.
- Kevin Spacey is God.
- Oops, sorry, my mistake. Bryan Singer is God.
- Was it just me, or did anybody else wish that Kal Penn (better known as Kumar) had speaking lines? Maybe his "I need sex" monologue from "Van Wilder, Party Liaison", perhaps?
- James Marsden (okay fine, Cyclops) is the ultimate poster boy for all sorry-ass husband/boyfriends out there.
- Superman can actually sweat in space. Wow.
- He does have a bit of a Messianic complex now, doesn't he? (You say that the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday I hear people begging for one...) Whoa.
- He's also a classic media whore. GMA, eat your heart out.
- Nice songs to play during the father-son moment at the end of the film: Butterfly Kisses, The Sacred Bird (From Miss Saigon), Anak...

He is super here in our solar system because of the sun but that doesn't mean he'll be weak back in krypton. he'll just be normal. but not weak.
about lois getting pregnant: yeah. and she had the gall to tell richard that it was his son? considering that she forgot something happened between her and superman.. then superman left.. didnt she even grieve? i thought she said she did for a while, but if we're gonna stick to the richard is the father plot, then that would mean that she got herself pregnant with richard right after (or even before) superman left. give or take one month. B*tch..
the kids has superpowers because he's half kryptonian..
maybe superman helped to avert any of the numerous national calamities we have here.. including those man-made..
about superman's costume: i think maybe it's bcoz he releases some sort of energy field surrounding himself (including the costume) making it invulnerable. maybe he used some kryptonian technology he learned from the crystals..
either lois lane is very tough, or has adamantium bones with super healing factors, or the plane is very well apholstered, baka may bubble wraps tapos walang hard or sharp surfaces..
if kumar opened his mouth to talk (lines).. baka naging slapstick comedy yung superman..
james marsden must be thinking: maybe jean grey is available now.. since lois doesnt seem to want me anymore..
Here's something that will support Ms. Lei's answer about his costume
Saw the following from one of my bookmarks, Superman Homepage:
Invulnerability - years of exposure to yellow solar energy have caused Clark's Kryptonian body to become almost indestructible. His natural bio-electric aura also has limited force field properties protecting items near his skin e.g. his costume. His cape is not protected by his aura. . .
Most of the time, Superman's costume will only be damaged by Kryptonite, Magic, or a lack of solar energy.
Granted na ganun nga, eh di dapat yung cape niya naapektuhan ng pabalik balik niya sa space.
Question, may zipper ba (or similar device) ang suit? Asan? Paano natanggal ng mga doctors yun?
Saka alam naman nila (from Lois' articles) that Superman's power comes from the sun, bakit pinagtagal pa nila sa loob ng hospital, di na lang i-expose sa sun. They have resources to transport him naman. I'm not complaining, just nit picking.
