- Beauty moves mountains and puts the stars in the skies. In other words, it inspires. People who see true beauty rarely say "ho-hum". They feel amazed enough to do seemingly crazy yet incredible things.
- A romantic relationship is not possible unless you're friends with that special someone. Why? Friendship is a stage every would-be couple must go through to ensure a romantic relationship to blossom.
- Sexual attraction is not exactly necessary. This may sounds so cliche but there are cases of people falling in love because of factors like character and financial stability. On the other hand, sexual attraction is subjective. A voluptuous body is sexy for one and a powerful charisma is sexy for another. This demands deep research.
UPDATE: Heffer Wolfe wasn't satisfied with my answer regarding his atomic bomb question. Here's a better one:
- Rather than cutting the red or green wire, it is much better to cut the wire of attachment. Once we cut the wire of attachment, we are free from the atomic bomb that is samsara or cycle of suffering. After diffusing the samsaric bomb, we experience the peace and security of enlightenment.
On the other hand, I would cut the green wire. Why? I just feel like it.
- Mom: "Well, if that makes you happy, why not?" Younger brother: Cool. Sister: (wala. Nasa States siya at that time e.) Older brother: (same as sister) Dad: My dad's dead but if he were still alive, he would say something like "uh okay"
- Liquid diet. I drink at least 3 glasses of water per meal and drink as much hot tea as possible. Occasionally, I drink fresh juice drinks.
Which local comic artists do you admire (aside from your own, of course)?
What can you say about the "Siglo" compilations?
Hardball question
Which creative direction should Philippine comics take? Do you think it can adapt the formulas from the western (Marvel, DC) and eastern (manga) traditions and make it into something that has a Filipino flavor? Or should the Filipino comic artists struggle to find art forms and means of expression that is truly Filipino?
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."
- Once in a while, I watch Filipino movies. The best ones I've watched were Maruja and Dito Sa Pitong Gatang, Panday 1, Ang Pagbabalik ng Panday (the one with Bong Revilla) and The Ninja Kids simply because they're so entertaining. Worst? So far wala.

- Pol Medina Jr. (siya ang unang nag-inspire sa akin), Wilson Tortosa (not only talented, he's a very nice guy who always has something good to say), Ariel Atienza (same as Wilson plus he does a very good job helping out Artists' Den), Lyndon Gregorio (because he paid me to say that. JOKE! I always learn something from him plus he's very witty.), Elmer Damaso (I really dig his art style), Honoel Ibardoloza (same as Elmer Damaso) and last but not the least, Gerry Alanguilan (because I like his art plus I learn something from him about the history of komiks).
- I really like the Siglo compilations. In fact, I have book 1 and 2. Are they close to the ultimate state of komiks, I don't know but at least they're somewhat close.
- First of all, we must lose unhealthy attachments to the almighty moolah (ka-ching ka-ching, if you know what I mean) and start focusing on the making the art and content more original or, at least, look really good. Why do you think the recent Captain Barbell is so crappy? It's because they've forsaken the stuff that makes it so unique just to cash in on the popularity of the new Superman movie. Bad move. Now it's one of the most reviled TV series in the komik book circle.
For your second question, I think we should adopt the formulas from the US comics and manga traditions and Filipinize them. What I'm about to say may controversial but just treat it as my opinion. Too many komik artists have become too fixated on nationalism, certain art styles and the glory of the past. They're not so keen on welcoming concepts and innovations from the west and the east. It's time to end this stagnation of minds.

- Ah yeeees... comics are relfections of not just their creators' beliefs. They also relfect personality and experiences. Comic strips are no exceptions.
Just for fun, I'll do the Robot Dance. Domo arigato, Mister Roboto! Domo! Domo! Domo! Domo!

This was posted on another thread. Here goes:
If you were to provide the story and artwork for a Fifty-Peso Ninja/ Beerkada crossover, how would you go about it? Which Beerkada characters would you use? What will be the plot/ subplots?
- The Burkha Ninjas (remember them?) take hostages (including Chompy, Fe and Boopy) and demand to the government that all Filipinas must wear veils. The men of Beerkada hire the Fifty-Peso Ninja to go on a rescue mission with a new ally... Whambo! Whambo is just Bryan in a Rambo costume and he was so pissed off at the thought of innocent hot chicks being forced to wear veils. Anyway, they storm the headquarters and kicked the Burkha Ninjas' asses. It turns out that 80% of the Burkha Ninjas were actually men, the women were rabid feminists. The brains behind the Burkha Ninja attack was actually Harry! Harry was very sure that his illegal porn business will reap immense profits if all the hot women in the country are "censored", making him the only source of adult entertainment around. Our heroes kick his sorry nerdy ass and everyone lived happily ever after.
- Batman. He has more brains than Superman.

1) what do you really think of "pretty boys" or bishounen?
They're okay. I'm actually one myself although I'm one of the lowest class. 2) what is your current favorite TV show?
Nothing in particular but I wanted to own a VCD collection of Eternity and Love of The Condor Heroes.
3) Are you pro or anti -Gloria Arroyo? Why?
I'm pro-Lico because I don't want to waste my time on politics. I rather make comics and do the little things that can create a big difference in this country.
4) How did you become a member of the Artists' Den?
I first met them after the first (or was it the second?) Anime Quest in Megamall. I was introduced to them by a few of my friends. They invited me to join the ML list and then voila.
5) What was your very first impression of Lyndon Gregorio?
Me: "That's Lyndon Gregorio? So that's what he looks like..."
6) How did your interest in Tarot Cards begin? How accurate are your readings?
Matagal na interested ako sa divination since I was in high school. Hanggang palmistry, numerology at remote viewing ang kaya ko. I only started using tarot last year because I didn't know where to buy tarot decks back then. As for accuracy, between 70 and 80 percent ang accuracy ko but I am confident that I can reach a 100.
7) Tell us about your pets.
I have 2 turtles and a dog named Mic-Mic. I had a tarantula named Shiva but, unfortunately, she seemed to have met her maker and is now in the big spiderweb in the sky.
8) Would you eventually go to the US?
Yes but only for a vacation.
9) Have you considered practicing the course you took back in college? (PT, right?)
Yes but I was misled into believing that I can pass such a test. I used to be the best in science back in high school and that't why I was easily convinced by my mother to take it. Oh how wrong I was! Nowadays, I don't see myself practicing PT. If I'm going to be a medical professional, I'd most likely be a herbalist or a reflexologist.
10) What would you name your future son / daughter?
If I have a son, I would name him either Gon Angelo, Kenshin Angelo or Conan Angelo. My daughter would be named Rumination Angela or just Rumi for short.
I was told by my AP teacher back in high school that you shouldn't buy your own tarot cards. you should just let your friends buy them for you to increase their "divinating" properties. or something like that.
nowadays there are tarot cards in all kinds of designs (I heard that there's chobits tarot cards). would you design FPN deck?

Sammy Davis, Jr. is a well-known Jewish Afro-American.
- Hmm, never heard that one but I'm very sure that my skills aren't affected. Besides, I'm one of the best.
Anyway, yes I would design a FPN tarot deck. Actually why restrict myself to FPN when I have a tons of interesting characters under my command? It would most likely be the Licomix Tarot Deck.

- Kung Fu Hustle, The Labyrinth and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
- To live up to 144 years. Either that or become the most powerful wizard around.
- Nah. Too much dogma inthose religions. I'm quite very happy with Buddhism. :)
