1. what are the top three stupid questions you've been asked?
Is that real? Does it hurt? Male or female?
2. pick one and indicate your reason please... - GMA or Erap - fried chicken or chicken adobo - the beach or the mountain - superman or batman - chinese mestiza or hot morena - cats or dogs - dream or death (sandman)
GMA (anybody who chooses Erap is a stupid idiot, no matter the reason), fried chicken (KFC...), the mountain (Sagada in my heart...), Batman (I like a superhero with issues), chinese mestiza (no comment), neither cats nor dogs, and Dream (coz everybody likes Death, joke!)
3. if you were to be a god, which god would you like to be?
Zeus. I love a god with no morals whatsoever.
4. if you were to be God for one day, what would you do?
Hit the reset switch.
5. have you done something/s that you've regretted?
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."
When and where did you encounter the monkey brain?? Did you eat it? How was it prepared/ served?
Long story. My sister used to be based in Guangzhou, China. We'd visit her every summer. During the latter visits, I made a Chinese friend (actually, he was HK-based, but...). He tagged along with his bro to Manila and we hung out. I then tricked him into eating balut and dinuguan. He was so freaked out, he vowed revenge.
The next year, I went to his family's apartment and paid him a visit. He then served me something that looked like chunky sherbet. I ate it, and I was amazed it had a meaty taste. I then remebered that he was out to get me, so I hurriedly asked what the hell did I just eat. He then brought out the sherbet on its original casing. The bastard brought out a monkey head. Think "Hannibal".
In fairness, it wasn't that bad.
Do you cook? Any specialty?
I do, but I wish I was better at it. My whole family cooks wonderfully, so I really seem like the odd one out. Even my goon of a brother is a wonderful cook. I am adept with pasta dishes and salads, though.
What's the last recipe you prepared for yourself, and for other people?
Just a simple carbonara, with raw egg and no milk, the way the purists like it.
Five things that's always stocked up in the ref/ kitchen?
Ha. Garlic, onions, olive oil, vinegar, and tomatoes.
Ugh. Sa Buck Rogers yata ako nakapanood ng ganitong scene, but I'm not so sure.
No, I think it was in Indiana Jones. I'm not sure, though.
Comfort foods?
Champorado, Sinigang, Pizza from Yellow Cab, Big Apple, or even Shakeys, KFC Original Recipe, and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
Anything you want to eat right now, but you can't because it's not available?
Real Indian food, like Chicken Vindaloo, Roti (with a bit of curry for dipping...yum...), Veggie Samosa, etc, etc.
What's the most expensive meal you've ever had?
By default, it's outside the Philippines, but let's stick to the local scene. The most expensive meal I have had in Manila would be in a restaurant in Greenbelt 2. I believe our total bill for a party of three was P4000. Ugh. I guess the buffet in Circles, Shangri-La Makati (P1000/head) also qualifies.
The most expensive meal that I paid for would be for a date with my first girlfriend. We ate in Friday's, and I paid P1200 for both of us.
Got any eating ritual or odd habit?
None I could think of.
Grossest you've ever witnessed in a resto, or even in your dining table?
I'm sorry, but this whole "spit-your-chicken-bones-on-the-table" thing they have going on in some restos in HK is just too much for me.
What's the silliest food-related tip or trivia ever given to you?
Um... can't think of any... Somebody taught me how to eat Adidas "the right way". Does that qualify?
Okay, okay, OKAY. Half the month has just passed, and frankly speaking, I'm still waiting to be grilled.
Don't get me wrong; I enjoy answering all your questions. Thanks for all the attention. But seriously, I was expecting more hardcore questions than this! Come on! This is not the time to hold back! BRING IT ON!!!
what would you choose? oven toaster, charcoal, roaster, or car engine? :
Car engine, duh.
what's your story behind the break-up between you and a certain beerkadet? :
Nice try. Basically, it just wasn't working out. We weren't fighting or anything, but that was only because I knew how to avoid arguments. I really wish it didn't have to get to that point, though.
Have you ever been in a beerhouse? Can you tell me what beerhouse can you recommend?
I have only been to two beerhouses my entire life. Clarissa's in Kamuning, and Bangbangali along EDSA Cubao/ I know Bangbangali is closed na, and I wouldn't be surprised if Clarissa's was closed too by now.
How many girlfriends ka na? Sino sino? How long were you together and reason for breaking up.
I've had two relationships and three umfriends. The first one was my high school sweetheart (yak), and we lasted five years. We just became romantically incompatible, but we're still super-close (and I'm not just saying that). The second was with an (ex)-Beerkadette. We lasted just under a year.
have you ever been turned down by a girl you courted? how many times/girls?
Loads of times! I lost count of all my wipe-outs, although there are two wipe-outs that really matter and really, REALLY hurt. One was with a kabarkada (we've since patched up), one was with some chinita (haven't talked to her since).
what do you find most attractive in a girl?
The Hardware: Long hair, expressive eyes, am also a fan of the female's lower back and the waist. I am predisposed towards chinita and filipina beauties.
The software/firmware: has to be highly intelligent (I love a good conversationalist), witty, a bit no-nonsense, a good sense of humor, I love a free thinker, must have interests similar and different to mine, has to be sensible, adventureous, and open to new experiences.
In short, I want a long-haired, expressive eyed, hot woman who will discuss the virtues of Hegelian philosophies in today's society while overlooking Echo Valley in Sagada, eating isaw. Good luck to me.
what would a girl have/be to instantly turn you off?
I HATE maarte women, women full of themselves, women who are only skin-deep, and women with no self-respect.
turn you on?
A woman who will discuss the virtues of Hegelian philosophies in today's society while overlooking Echo Valley in Sagada, eating isaw. While wearing a lacey white blouse. Roar.
sinong local celebrity ang pinagpapantasyahan mo?
I used to have the hots for Tweety De Leon (back in the "Okay Ka, fairy Ko" days); now it would have to be Aubrey Miles. I also had a crush on Kaye Abad and Jodi Santamaria before (HAHAHA, TABING ILOG!!!)
what was the most indecent thing you've done?
Go to class in a bahag. It was a UP REP thing. I was sent out, of course.
the most embarrasing?
Farting in class back in grade school. We're talking about nuclear shockwave here.
the funniest?
Heckling L during all the conventions; Seriously, I've done so much ****, I don't know what to consider my funniest. Sampler: I did an impromptu stand-up routine in my old high school (DLSZ) and roasted all my past teachers and administration members (I was an alumnus by then), I've done so many Tula-Dulas in UP, I've walked around UP wearing a gownI've dropped a water bag on a friend... Too many to mention...
the scariest?
Go up to the Film Center. I fainted because I could actually feel the anger and hatred of the souls within.
