may mga tao ngang ganun, noh? ayaw nila sa name nila so they make themselves known by another name.

my boss in my first job nakilala namin as sir paul. then nalaman namin na hindi pala yun ang real name nya kundi "matias." sabagay, mas maganda nga naman ang paul.

a friend of mine adopted the name "shandy."

my bestfriend had a student (back in highschool during our cathechism days) named "virgin mary."

In 6th grade I had a classmate whose name i think was Virtucio Santiago or Santiago Virtucio (?) I don't exactly remember the original arrangement of his name that much but both of it sounds like a last name to me. His firends and his former classmates call him Santiago or Virtucio, me and the others who happened to be his new classmates keeps getting confused with it, our section suddenly had the habit of calling the others by their last names. 


In college, Maggie and I had a teacher named Victoriano Francisco or Francisco Victoriano? (Help me out here Mags, I'm not sure which is which) It both sounds like a first name. We just call him "Sir Vic" which suits him just fine since I think he also knows that it confuses all the students that takes his class. But in fairness to him, he IS the the most good looking teacher in the Fine Arts Department A TOTAL Heartthrob! that even my lesbian friend developed a crush on him


Back then I thought I had the most unusual last name ever, then I found out that I wasn't the only one. I was given the task of downloading the resumes of those who are applying in our company, I encountered a name that was (on my opinion) absolutely patriotic: Philip Pinoy, yes, its Philip Pinoy, his last name is Pinoy and his first name is Philp. So close to the origin of our Country's name don't you think?


I have my own share of unusual name, only its my last name that's unusual, and its always linked to Espiritu and Cruz. It had stucked on me since I was a kid, in 6th grade there's me-Encanto, and then there's espiritu and cruz. Up til now, the espiritu and cruz surnames get stucked on me. I had an officemate whose surname was espiritu and another cruz. Naturally, Cruz is the good one, Encanto is the bad one and Espiritu is... I guess somewhere in the middle of good and bad.


A lot of people used to tease me with my surname and I used to hate it when they make fun of it. Now... it feels fun using it especially since most filipinos up to now (or so i think) are still superstitious and believes in engkanto. Kinda handy for me when people whom i don't now that much and teases me with it gets a little spooked when I just agree with them that I am or maybe am one and that they should be careful indeed.

another new friend adopted the nickname don. real name pala nya democrito jr. sabi nya, bakit ba kasi ang hilig ng mga taong ipasa ang mga pangit na pangalan. ngek.

akira: gleng ng mga shinare mo ah. yung apelyido ko, unusual. i grew up being teased by it. ubalde ang surname ko. dati naiinis ako kasi some classmates would call me "balde." later when i grew up wala na akong paki kasi i learned that our family/clan has made a name as a people of good standing in society in terms of services to other people (and talent daw. hehe syempre proud ako.)

Kichi: it's not the sound of the name or how unusual it is, it's how you take care of that by being an asset in the society.  My middle name is M, which stands for "malabonga"...my classmates always ridicule my middle name.  Doesn't matter.  At least our reputation is good.

KICHI: baka clementine? As for your surname, di ba former actor Bojo Molina's real name is Ubalde Punongbayan? If I remember correctly, Junior pa nga yata siya. (So, parents/would be parents: isipin naman po mabuti ang ipapangalan sa magiging anak.)

KICHI ulit, and BUGOY: Oo nga, kahit medyo mabantot pakinggan, mas mahalaga malinis ang pangalan.

Ithink Nirvana sort of means paradise or heaven. Is that right? sa Hindu ba yun?


Either her parents are religious... or their just big fans of Nirvana.


In any case its nirvana is a nice name. Sana binuo na lang nila yung name rather than paghiwalayin.

name ko. euodia. it has all the vowels there. kaya dee nickname ko kasi yung D lang yung consonant. promise talaga, wala pang nakakatama sa pagpronounce ng name ko (when they mispronounce it, reflex na lang sa akin yung pag correct). sigh...ang damo ko nang na-accept na certificates na mali spelling ng name ko.

my sister's name is xaris. both of our names are greek. her's means "grace", mine "a sweet smelling Offering to God".
