another riddle

Think of words ending in "-gry". "Angry" and "hungry" are two of them. There are only three words in "the English language." What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

LANGUAGE is the third word in "the English language".

Na-encounter ko na ito noon and maraming variations ang riddle na ito. Merong isa na "hungry" din ang sagot, basta nilagay siya sa third spot sa sentence. May iba naman, sound ang trick.

Angry and hungry ang MOST COMMON words ending in "-gry" talaga, although may mga ilang obscure and obsolete words like "meagry".

I am reviving this thread, I hope ok lang. Now try to sove the following puzzle:

A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early. Everyone else at the party who drank the punch subsequently died of poisoning.
Why did the man not die? confused

The poison in the punch came from ice cubes(galing siguro sa Manila Bay o sa loob ng MV Princess ang ice cubes).When the man drank the punch,the ice was fully frozen and for the time being,the ice melted,poisoning the punch.Si Tinkahbelle ang unang nakasagot.Yehey!biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Congratulations to super sleuth tinkahbelle for correctly guessing the logical answer to the puzzle. Put your thinking hats on though, because ready or not, here's the next one...


There is a man who lives on the top floor of a very tall building. Everyday he gets the elevator down to the ground floor to leave the building to go to work. Upon returning from work though, he can only travel half way up in the lift and has to walk the rest of the way unless it's raining!

Because he is dwarf,He can only reach the 9th floor button in the elevator when he goes home so he has to take the stairs for the remaining 9 floors... He did not take the stairs when it's raining as he is able to reach the 18th button with his umbrella...

The customer had hiccups.The gun pointing at the customer used as a shock theraphy to cure for his hiccups.If the barman shoots the customer then,it'll be different story.

Chicken:you pluck its feathers,cooked it and eat its flesh and throw its insides or could it be...

Corn:take its husks,cooked and eat its yellow thingie and throw whatever that's left or....
