ahahaha... ayan may naalala ako about diyan sa cellphone.
I do that too, when there's a brownout and I need to find myself a candle and a match. Or sometimes when I wake up too early in the morning and I need to find my slippers.

About the hair pin thing...it really happened to someone (karayom nga lang ang ginamit)...this happened to a missionary kidnapped by communist (i forgot if it is Vietnam or China). He was put into solitary for about a year or two. It was so dark. They usually do that to captured missionaries to make them go insane because of boredom. So, in order to keep his sanity, he did that "karayom" thing. He was released with his mind still intact.
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."
What Karayom thing? you mean trying to find it in the dark and throw it again like you did? Wow he's got so much patience!! To Ate Jinky: pareho pala tayo na ginagamit ang cellphone as flashlight when trying to find the light switch. The one with the backlight REALLY works! To Wingzero: You're afraid of the dark too?
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."

I can relate to that! In a different situation but same conecpt. When I was a kid my dad made me rewrite the words of an article on the newspaper. It was sort of a handwriting practice for me. It was so tiring
Ahh...
Kaya pala...

Another thing to do when bored: if you have cylindrical shape items at home (like baso or paso), try to measure its volume. i did it at my girlfriend's house one time while waiting for her.

Akira: Does that mean you have nice, legible penmanship? That's something I should see.
On topic: while waiting for friends to arrive at a fastfood place, sit near a table with eye candy. Enjoying the view every now and then is acceptable. But staring at the lady the whole time is rude.

Akira? Good penmanship? I haven't seen any written works yet as in the ones she really writes.. Just scrawls though..
WING: I don't want to sound stupid but what did you mean by eye candy?

Good penmanship? Well, that was my father's plan anyway or what it was supposed to happen... But it ended up in a different result... I got too bored copying the article that I just hurried finishing the activity so I can move on with other things.
Naturally, the result of my penmanship became something like "kinahig ng manok" which in my case became "kinahig ng pusa" hehehehehe.....

Kaya since then, di na ko nag-try magsulat ng dikit-dikit or scripted. Printed yung pagsulat ko, nangyari naman, pareho na kami ng father ko. Almost the same handwriting namin.
Back to the topic. Visualizing what the cloud forms look like (a horse, a teddy bear, a hand, a boat, a face or whatever). I used to do that when I was a kid, I sometimes still accidentally do it kapag traffic at naka-sakay ako sa sasakyan namin or sa bus or colorum.

I know of a schoolmate whose parents made them read-- and memorize-- entries in the dictionary. And encyclopedia din yata. So he and his siblings are stuck with those, while I have comics to turn to during my free time.
On topic, I organize my files, sort out the stuff with my name, address, and pertinent info on them, then shred or cut them into the smallest sizes possible before I get rid of them. Recycle and/or reuse whatever can be salvaged though, like unmarked envelopes, or sheets whose half can still be used as scratch paper.

Naja: That's not weird. I do something similar. There are those who go through the wastebasket of others. I like to think of it as the equivalent of a 'delete' button in real life.
Bugoy the Man: You haven't read the dictionary in two months? That's a sign you're not 'bored out of your wits'.
On topic. Ask female friends weird questions. For example: which method of hair removal hurts the most -- plucking, waxing or threading?

as of now, may bago akong natutununan. marunong na akong mag manicure. kaso yung pedicure medyo alangan pa ako. wala kasi akong ginagawa sa bahay kaya ginalaw ko yung manicure set ng aking mahal na mama. tapos unti unting natuto. five three times kong napadugo ang mga daliri sa paa ng aking mama, at dalawang beses naman sa akin...
