My friend asked me minutes ago, ano daw magandang book na basahin. Sabi ko graphic novels (After Eden, Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah at Trip to Tagaytay na lang) saka Beerkada syempre. Aliw din naman kahit mababaw yung mga cosmo novels. Coelho's Eleven Minutes at Veronika Decides to Die ok din. Kayo ba? What ma-re-recommend niyo?

Eleven Minutes-- fast read. Hindi siya yung usual na overflowing with vague metaphors. Madaling maintindihan. Tapos moving yung poetry ni Coelho. Ibang klase. While I was reading the book, madalas akong mapa-pause, at mapaisip. Iba kasi talaga yung storyline. Affected ako. In my head I was like: "Ano ba tong binabasa ko?" Minsan nakaka-harrass kasi yung iba. May Pinay character pa na extra sa novel (referred to ata as the best prostitute who gives the best advice). Degrading and yet kahit ganun, binasa ko pa rin. Hehehe... Ang labo no? basta ok siya at mage-gets mo ibig kong sabihin pag binasa mo.
Yung Veronika Decides to Die, ok rin. Kaso di ko matapos-tapos til now. Busy kasi. Fan kasi ko ni Coelho kaya super appreciated ko lahat ng books niya. Halfway pa lang ako dito, pero dami ko na napulot na thoughts. Basta.

coelho's the alchemist, veronika decides to die & by the river piedra i sat down and wept nabasa ko. i liked the first two. i was very touched at naiyak pa. the third one, di ko masyadong nagustuhan.
try neil gaiman's american gods, neverwhere, stardust... very good read. of course, yung sandman series nya, out of this world.
type ko mga fantasy at sci-fi, so try mo rin mga novels na ganun. daming magaganda. oh, and i remember just now. arthur clarke's childhood's end. malaki impact sa akin nun. basta, madaming magaganda. thank god for very talented people like them.
