Isaw is a regular feature of L's Aling McBeal-related strips. But what is your personal definition of isaw? is it just grilled chicken intestines, or is any grillable street food also isaw? Are betamax, adidas, helmet, and kwek-kwek also considered isaw? what are your thoughts?

Yes, Bi. I wanna know what you think. L's rampant use of the subject in the Aling McBeal strips intrigued me. I'm from Cebu, the lechon capital of the Philippines, and we rarely hear the word 'isaw' over here. We refer to grilled streetfood as sinugba. So. What is your definition of isaw?

Parts of Chickens and Pigs that are normally thrown away but are perfectly edible, grilled on a stick and with spicy hot vinegar .

ang alam ko rin, yung isaw lang e yung intestines.. pero minsan, ginagamit din sya as a collective term for the other street foods we eat with isaw (like the ones you mentioned above)..

example... Tara, punta tayo sa isawan..

It doesnt always follow na isaw lang bibilhin mo :D

Ang pagkakaalam ko rin isaw ung intestines. Ung ibang mga street food tulad ng mga nabanggit ni LP, I think it's a different matter entirely. Ewan ko lang ha. XD

ms. lei also has a point.. at times you can hear youngster saying "dun tayo sa isawan.."

kaya cguro tinawag na isawan un cguro mabenta eh ung isaw mismo,, or dun nagsimula un? isaw ang una nabenta e nag click kya tnry igrill ung atay so may betamax and then the chicken head - helmet...etc...

 They cooked and placed it in a mold and cut into cubes.I think this is the only definition that exists for youngsters today since meron nang DVD,Blue-ray,Red-ray discs...yung friend ko meron siyang original Macross movie tsaka Nadia series in betamax form naka-istambay sa bahay nila.

No, Betamax is sold already frozen in the market. Ikaw na bahalang maghiwa at magtuhog. But you have to get the firm ones, not too tough, but still bounces on your thumb.

Isaw ng baboy ang pinakagusto ko, yung luto pero hindi masyadong sunog. I like my chicken isaw crispy.

sa pagkaka alala ko its the worst among the hepa.... wala din atang cure or vaccine d2..blood to blood ang transmission... tsk tsk... it can lead to liver cancer too

nakakatakot yang hepa na yan lalo na if you are dealing with patients who have one, kahit hindi man hepa yung case pero infectious.. there are time n npprick ako ng needles ng syringes luckily bagong bukas pa lang ang mga yun...so discard and get a new one n lng para iwas sakit... and got myself a hepa vaccine for precaution na rin :D

kala ko isaw refers specifically to the intestine part; i guess naging generic na rin yung term.

as for food scare, sa sawsawan ako nagka-allergic reaction.

nga pla yun din ang hirap...kasi yung iba naisubo na isasawsaw pa ulit... tsk tsk.. pero yung ibang isawan e may lalagyan na bnbigay (mangkok yung iba e plastic cup) para sa sawsawan...

ang alam ko din e ung isaw = intestine part...

hmm, a little off topic but since it was asked here I'll try to give a brief summary: it's one of 6 hepatitis virus variants (A-G) you get it from blood transfusion (unlike hepa A which you get from usually from food, but pwede rin infected serum) and only chimpanzees the only animals also known to be susceptible to it (meaning Psychocow and Enigbaboy are safe) at least may relevence pa rin sa beerkada diba?

Yes, "isaw" is the generic term for intestines. It's also called IUD because of the way it looks when it's skewed on a stick. Btw, IUD means intrauterine device, a means of birth control for women of reproductive age.
