"A Little Princess" by Frances Hodgson Burnett (AKA "Princess Sara") started as a serialized novel in a magazine.

Also, a video game based on "Little Lord Fauntleroy" by Burnett (AKA "Cedie, Ang Munting Prinsipe") was made for the Nintendo Family Computer and was released 12/24/88.

The Palo Alto Research Center (PARC,) under Xerox company, came up with the graphics-user interface (GUI), the mouse, the laser printer, and ethernet, but xerox didn't see a way to make money out of it, so they put a low priority to these innovations. The first Philippine President to have ever spent in the night in Malacanang was Emilio Aguinaldo.

After being captured in Isabela by the Americans in 1901, he was detained as a POW in a place befitting in his status as the highest-ranking rebel leader (the Americans did not recognize our 1st Republic, rmember?) the residence of Governor General Elwell Otis, Malacanang Palace.

Aguinaldo was also the first president to ride a car, airplane and submarine but this was after his presidency.

On the subject of Farts...

Pressurization in aircraft became standard during World War 2.

Bomber crews were found to have injuries in the digestive system not due to bad food, turbulence or enemy fire.

US Army Airforce scientists found that that their intestinal gases expanded while the crewmen were flying in higher altitudes where air pressure is less dense.
