Para kasi nakaka-walang dignity...teka, strong word. Parang ganun. Buti na lang nag-cut yung camera to another part of the ring, kundi nakita pa nating nagkabuhol-buhol sa ropes yung First Gentleman.

Agree. Ako rin. It's that part of it I am uncomfortable with: yung umakyat pa talaga siya.
I agree with that. Politicians can watch, but they must not go in the stage. Like i said, It's for the athletes, trainer, and manager to savor their victory (or defeat). Yan tuloy, i just heard that a top gov't official went there at the expense of taxpayers' money.
Still, i'm proud of Manny Pacquiao. Go Philippines!

NO!!!

Well, we know by now that Manny won that matchup. Seriously, ABS-CBN wasn't going to risk sending a real threat over here, right. With that said, Larios really stood his ground.

I think it's one of the reason he declined to continue.. Now that he's retiring, he wouldn't want to damage his face any more than necessary. who knows, he might get modelling gigs or commercial endorsements. :D
but did you notice the difference in the number of advertisers on morales' uniform vs pacquiao's? :D
Boxers retire early for various reasons. Maybe, as you say it, just maybe, to avoid his face to be permanently disfigured. Other factor can be avoiding further long-term effects, just like ALI's Parkinson's (though I don't know if boxing is correlational with parkinson's).
Maybe he can do a pacquiao: have movies with tom cruise, ben affleck, bruce willis, in an action film ala John Cena. Or be a model.
we can't really tell the possibilities...we can just assume...

I was only able to watch the last 40 seconds in the Pacquia-Morales fight last Sunday and it was great. Kudos to Pacquiao.
Now here's the thing, I know it's a really big deal that he won but why is it that that's all I ever watch about on the news?? Hell, they even ask him about how much his paycheck is gonna be, what balato his mother wants... and why in hell did Chavit go up the ring all smiling when Paquia won?
Well... I guess it's just me.

Didn't you see all those people going crazy over him when he won? He sells papers, he spikes ratings, his face sells products. It's just the way it is.
Which just leads me to wonder if he would still be as sellable if he lost? Or is he already in Efren "Bata" Reyes' level; that it doesn't even matter if he wins or loses?

I know that's the way it is pero must it be really like that?
Like the way those ABS-CBN news anchors asked their questions to Manny Pacquiao on that live interview. Was it proper for a "respectable" news anchor to ask that?

Boxers retire because their bodies can no longer take the strain of training after a certain age. Younger, 'hungrier' fighters will outlast them on the ring.

i totally agree! nainis ako nung umakyat pa si chavit. sabi nga ng kuya ko, ganyan talaga pag may pera ang tao...sana pera niya nga talaga yun...

Lyndon: right. Good things that you also use the word "hungrier"...a boxer, regardless of how young he is, may retire just because he's not "hungry" to win

I do remember the movie "cinderella man"..
he was forced to retire, but was given a chance to return.. and won a title because he is literally hungry.
