i had one heck of an experience with MRT security pala... ewan ko ba kung bakit minsan may ganon at minsan wala... depende yata sa station... as i was going to enter the station, may dala ko take out ng burger and fries ( i drank the coke na kasi baka di ipapasok)... tapos when the guard sees it sabi ba sakin na iwan ko daw kasi bawal.
sabi ko di ko naman kakainin eh... tsaka nasa plastic naman... pero rules daw.. so i left my food na lang para wala ng gulo... then, when i was already in the train, i saw the guard eating my food...
as if naman makakain nya sa loob yun...

I'm guessing they're not that thorough in bag checking unless there are Cops looking over the guards' shoulders especially when there are those Red Alerts declared by our Nationa Security agencies namely the DND and the DILG pr even the National Security Agency.

By the way, last Saturday, the MRT was closed from North-Shaw. Would anyone know the cause of the supposed maintenance?

Thanks.

Bago na kasi ung LRt1 - its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay a lot safer and more humane.. i remember one time, i was with my brother.. alam nyo naman na medyo may kabilisan ung door ng the old Lrt1.. and there's this typical normal looking woman - a nanay-like.. the door closed na hindi pa sya fully nakapasok.. she was like cut in half, dude.. she was not in pain basing on her facial expression.. but she was dead embarrased and ofcourse, pissed.. and guys from the inside tried to open the door.. pero syempre d kaya.. it took about 30seconds or more para lang ma buksan ulit.. so, she was like hanging there for 30secs... my brother said thank God it wasnt a man.. or else his price possesions wouldnt know which side to go..

astig dn ung LRT2.. kaso ambagal..

sa MRT naman, rush hour chong! to the max!! sa sobra dikit. muntik na akong magka lip to lip sa strange old makati woman!

i guess there's no power coming from the lines form shaw to north ave station... well, it seems to happen quite often now.. actually, i was a victim of that incident.. wehre all passengers coming from taft was forced to exit shaw. i really don't know the reason behind that but i think the power lines from north ave - shaw and shaw - taft are different and i guess the power line from shaw - north ave always experience some "technical difficulties..."

Why can't they just add more trains? It seems like such an inane question, but think about it.

What they could do is get corporate sponsors to buy trains or shares of a train so that they can use them for advertising. It may cost more than ad space but they can put different ads on the train as long as they own them.

i think it's kinda hard to find trains  that will match with the railings and size of the existing ones. well, maybe not that much in LRT2/Megatren 'coz it's somewhat similar with the current trains being created now a days.  But if ever they purchased one, i do hope that they're really BRAND NEW!!! and not some refurbished ones like those being used today...

It may be a long wait for the LRT2 Megatrens to reach the station. What I do like about them, is that they have timers that show how many minutes before the train arrives and they are very accurate.

I just hope the other lines are just as well-managed.

@tora: but unfortunately, the other lines are not well,managed... And i think the reason for the slow arrival of trains in LRT2 is because they only have a limited number  of trains.  So they have to really maximize each stop on every station to gather as many passengers as possible... especially at Santolan and Recto station...

But despite that they have even better service than the EDSA line.

In the MRT-3, The time it takes to get to the station depends on how long it would take for the trains at opposite ends of the line to fill up. It is as if the only pririty they give are to those at North Avenue who need to go to Taft and guys at Taft who need to go to North Ave.
The guys in other stations along the route should also be considered too.

I know.. especially, during rush hours... When you're somewhere in the middle of the two end stations, i doubt it if you can still get a train... Like when you're in cubao, all the trains passing through can't accommodate the passengers in line anymore... The trains are all ready full.. You can't even move when you're inside... Luckily, at some point, they do launch a skip train that will not take passenger from north ave station.  Sometimes, they take passengers starting from kamuning or cubao station..

may nabalitaan po ako sa Northrail project and some MRT/LRT project related issues.

It was good kasi talagang maganda ang project. But this stupid senator questioned the project and said it was over budgeted. Itigil muna at hintaying maging mura uli...

If ever the MRT does stop halfway between Guadalupe and Buendia, I cannot imagine what it would be like walking all the way to the closest station when it's the longest distance between two stations in the MRT line.

@tora: i think trhe longest distance btwn 2 stations is ortigas and santolan.

anyway, from now on, i'll stick to the ever dependable stored value tickets compared to globe's stupid g-pass... arrrgggghhh... i've reloaded 100 pesos for that stupid junk and the load wasn't loaded... i just wasted 100 pesos...stupid piece of trash...furious

And to think that part of the route is a roller coaster.

You are actually spending more for much less when you are loading up GPasses since out of a 100 bucks, 99+ is actually loaded and close to 10 bucks must be left in the GPass to keep it active.

It may cost more than a Stored-Value-Ticket but it does offer one advantage, though. During rush hour, you don't have to wait in line that long to get your GPass reloaded.

well, i do agree that g-pass is really dependable especially during long lines at the ticket booth.. but just had a bad experience with it.. just like what i've said in my previous post, my P100 load wasn't loaded... luckily, i have enoug balance to use it... darn..

Since I almost always ride the MRT from Taft, I just fix my make-up & hair in the train, usually before we get to the Ayala station.

First time I rode the MRT, I took the one going to the opposite direction. There was also one time, before they started posting the allowable cargo, when I was not allowed to ride the LRT because I had a trolley & a mountaineer backpack.

And of course, the usual sea of people during rush hour.

While I was holding on to one of them, naputol 'yung strap at tumama ang higanteng Biogesic sa ulo ng nakaupo sa harap ko.
