I noticed that Studio 23 had an axing spree of their locally-produced primetime shows. DTour, Wazzup Wazzup, Gag Ito! and It's a Guy Thing were among the casualties. They were survived by Us Girls and YSpeak. The only new local primetime show they have is game show Break the Bank.
These shows have been replaced by foreign shows including anime re-runs. Were these shows sacked by poor ratings, lack of budget or just simply a policy shift in the network management?

The target market they are trying to reach out to (class ABC young adults of both sexes) seems to prefer cult hit US Imports like Lost, Prison Break, CSI, Smallville and 24. They don't want to watch shows featuring commercial models who want to try out being hosts.
And they face stiff competition from cable (which most folks in that bracket can afford) and its a small viewershare. I wouldn't be surprised if a significant number of those potential viewers can't watch because they're working the nightshift in hospitals or call centers
