I don't know how the movie industry works, but I think its better that they ban those worthless movies in thier cinemas. Let Aliw A&B do that job. Movies like that are the ones responsible why whenever my friends hear "Filipino Movie", the only thing that enters their mind are all those worthless movies with great titles(talong, itlog, kapag and palay nagingbigas may bumayo, kangkong, pila balde...). I really enjoy movies and it makes me sad that theres only very few good Filipino movies out there.
Definitely agree with the sentiments of you guys. I think that the SM move was a good one, IMO & it should be applauded for taking such an initiative. I really love movies & would prefer quality over quantity. Let's hope that this move will inspire film producers to create more cleverly written & entertaining pieces of work & not continue to dish out more worthless crap.
tama nga yung ginawa ng SM in banning R18 films, para hindi puro porn ang nagpo-pollute sa utak natin and people tend to get bootleg copies of porn anyway, so why watch it in the big screen?
On one end, I appreciate the fact that these brainless producers will finally be forced to peddle something else rather than skin and sex. I'm all for that. It's about time somebody strongarms these myopic idiots into definitive action.
But I don't appreciate SM for practically telling me what I can and can't watch. Besides, not only skin flicks are rated R-18. We'd miss out on a lot of movies if this continues.
i think the management of Sm have thought this through again.. and they said that they would be choosing which r18 films they would allow to be shown in their cinemas..
and there we have it, some of the most glaring problems of the movie industry: dibidibisidi proliferation, low quality films, consumers who tolerate both,....

I think they are promoting and upifting the morality ng movie industry. Beside, it's their moviehouse... Nood na lang tayo sa iba.
