Uber-favorite pinoy food would have to be Kare-Kare and Sinigang. I really don't hate any particular dish, but generally I wish Pinoy food wasn't so oily. It hurts my figure.
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."
Fried, roasted or grilled it doesn't matter basta masarap.
:sad:I love bagoong and alamang. I won't touch those. Recently lang, nagkaroon ako ng allergic reaction. There are two possible culprits: new brand of belgian chocolates I tasted for the first time, or leftover alamang (from that afternoon's merienda ng kasambahay). I DON'T WANT TO BE ALLERGIC TO CHOCOLATES!!! So I'm putting the blame on the alamang.
Ginisang alamang or bagoong, with a little chili oil and calamansi, goes well with blanched veggies like okra, talong, kangkong, talbos ng kamote...

Have a craving for pansit palabok or malabon. What are the other types of Pinoy pasta?
Ampalaya can be prepared with most of the bitterness removed, or camouflaged.
As for Pinoy pasta, I'm just familiar with the ones my tummy's been acquainted with.
Off the top of my head-
Noodles: there's miki, mami, bihon, canton, sotanghon, miswa, lomi... made from different ingredients: flour, rice, squash, wheat.
Pansit buko, isama ko na rin dito. Instead of the noodles, shredded buko ang gamit. Prepared just like pancit, or as sinagul. Ever tried that? It's like curry, pero shark meat ang madalas isahog.

nitong weeks ko lang po nalaman na ricecakes are no desert. pang merienda siya or a substitute for rice. hindi daw siya categorized as a desert. base lang po to sa friend kong nutritionist. huhuhu... stupid me...
let me see, leche flan is the best. next is ube or halaya, then anything na minatamis-saging, kamote, balinghoy/kamoteng kahoy, cassava, kalabasa.
