The question on Oprah was "What Should I Do With My Life?" and it was about people who changed careers and answered their true calling. One was a successful lawyer who turned his back on his career to become a baker because that was what he always wanted to do. Another was a successful scriptwriter who wanted to teach so he quit Hollywood and became a University Teacher. One was all set to be a doctor, pero he wanted to work as a counselor to inner-city schoolkids.
Kayo, if you weren't in school studying to become doctors or architects or engineers, if you weren't working as a cartoonist, or tech support or a production manager, what would you be? For some it's okay to be where they are right now, pero may mga secret passions sila. Even those in school: parang yan ang talagang balak nyong aralin, pero baka may gusto rin kayong ibang gawin na hindi nyo lang pinursue for whatever reason.
Ako, years na akong writer-producer, and now I'm trying out working in a post-production house. Pero I've always thought about what it would be like to be a veterinarian (or any work involving animals, kahit na trainer or sa zoo). Isa pa, parang gusto kong maging teacher. I'm drawn to teaching kahit sa work ko, parang enjoy akong magturo.
Right now, I don't think I can give up my present job dahil love ko rin ang ginagawa ko. Pero minsan naiisip ko, "what if?".
Kayo, may other passions ba kayo? Curious lang ako.
I have already finished Psychology from a previous college. Dapat magwwork na ako kaso I really did not want that course, most especially the school! Kakainis kasi it really wasn't in my choices when I was applying for a school back then. I have always wanted to be an animator. I plan to work in Japan kaya I pulled my dad for a talk. Sabi ko: "Daddy, ayoko! Mag-aarala ako ulit ng course na gusto ko!" Tapang no? We're still not on good terms but I got what I want. At least I did something to pursue my dream.
I also wanted to be a writer. Wala lang. Parang ang cute e. I have my own world everytime I retire to my room. Ang problema nga lang, I can't write it down, can't find the words e.. (parang nanliligaw ako no...? parang magsusulat ng love letter.)
yun lang po.

hindi naman kelangang pumunta ng japan para mag-animator. I've worked freelance as a BG painter and an In-betweener para sa isang animation studio right here.... we made the new One Piece episodes early this year....

warner bros. is too corporate in my view, sa toei animation, okay lang kahit pumasok ka ng naka-tsinelas .... but it's not your regular 9-5 job... an approaching deadline is hella scary

I used to be a mathematician, but now i'm working in an exporting company. I still want to teach. However, my present passion is to be a cartoonist in a newspaper company. I can draw, but not as good as engineers, architect, fine arts grad. (Lyndon saw the drawing).
I still draw at the sides, but doesn't have confidence in showing it to newspaper companies because i don't have confidence in my "work".
"oh, the river is wide, the river it touches my life...like the waves on the sand...and all roads lead to tranquillity base...where the frown on my face disappears..."
and yet,eto ako, isang awtopskulyut na nagiisip ng magandang pasukang undergrad job para makapagipon ulee ng pang-aral nang maisalang nang mulee sa isang kursong di ko naman kagustuhan...
