erh.. dare i call this a review(?)...off the top of my head. I've been meaning to start a discussion regarding this; nakakalimutan ko lang lagi.
(Compare niyo hitsura ni Glen sa Beerlenium, and Glen sa Go-Bkada... )
"ang dumi namang mag-drawing..":
L's crap (the cartoonist's own description) reminds me of Hanna- Barbera cartoons; crude drawing, stiff/ awkward characters.
But, after re reading the previous books, the notes help para maalala ng readers ang ini-spoof years after the issue/event fades into obscurity.
To color or not to color:
I kinda like Tres Kada. 2 colors lang, pero na-optimize naman ang orange & green. BeerKuwatro, select strips lang yung nagustuhan ko ang color combination. Nga pala, pansin niyo ba, Bakit nung binalik sa black & white si Fe, naging hottie siya
Background: may story na lately ha, unlike in the previous strips na bare lang. Also, experiments sa paneling (tama ba term?). The more, the many-ier. The variations actually give the strips a fresh look, saka mas controlled ng cartoonist kung saang particular panel i-focus ang reader. wait... controlled.. hmm.. too strong a term yata.
Humor/story: ooohh... from beerlenium to Go-bkada, we're seeing the color meter rising to deep, deeper shade of green the gang's all grown up na
yun lang po muna... bibitbitin ko na lang mga books ko pag nag internet ulit ako.

everytime na magbabasa ako ng criticism about sa beerkada, kahit nas a ibang bagay, natatawa ako dahil naiisip niyo yun. i feel so dumb. but anyways.
mas gumaganda yung drawing and poresentation ng characters. kahit na colored yung book 4, ams maganda naman yung mga facial expression sa book five (hmmm... parang sa t.v.) but then again, mas maganda pa rin ang colored.
dun naman sa humor, to tell you the truth, medyo hindi ko nagegets yung iba sa book 5. medyo mature or intellectual yung humor, or slow lang talaga ako. hindi katulad sa book 1, unang hirit palang, ulam na. then sa book three and book four almost entirely the same yung mga level ng pagpapatuwa nila. but sa book 5, hindi ako napapatawa pero napapangiti ako kasi very smart ang mga jokes.
s2chard: hindi ka nag-iisa. there are some strips that i sometimes see myself saying, 'hah? ano daw?' hehe.. pero sa akin, it's a challenge and an opportunity to learn and improve on my knowledge. research, ask. pwede naman e. kaya nga may direct hotline ang beerkadets to L for all their reactions, good, and bad. both help L to gauge the effectivity of his strips.
fraggle rock/duder/tagrod: not anymore.
twistedkai: tama!
rune: you mean chomps?
jinky: takot ka mag post? ayan, mas madami na posts si kai sa yo. i still got your chronicles!
everyone: whatever you have to say, good or bad, Lyndon listens. It may seem na he's quiet, or did nothing, but watch out. you'll see.
naja: great thread/topic. nice insights too.. s2chard: hindi ka nag-iisa. there are some strips that i sometimes see myself saying, 'hah? ano daw?' hehe.. pero sa akin, it's a challenge and an opportunity to learn and improve on my knowledge. research, ask. pwede naman e. kaya nga may direct hotline ang beerkadets to L for all their reactions, good, and bad. both help L to gauge the effectivity of his strips. fraggle rock/duder/tagrod: not anymore. twistedkai: tama! rune: you mean chomps? jinky: takot ka mag post? ayan, mas madami na posts si kai sa yo. i still got your chronicles! everyone: whatever you have to say, good or bad, Lyndon listens. Takot ako mag - react sa post above. Lei: re: Chronicles -- Happy reading and re - reading! re: Kai overtaking me -- oo nga, ang bilis nga ni kai. Hindi na lang ikaw ang hahabulin ko, si kai na lang kaya. re: Beerkada -- it has brought so many people together. That's always a good thing, yes? At kahit ulit - ulitin, nakakatawa pa rin. Galeng.

awww.. this is really touching.. and im so happy that our forum is so alive and kicking! you prolly would not believe it but i saw a forum that was like this: there were 4-5 posts in a thread for every second! it's like all the members were online at the same time and replying real time to the posts! (parang si kai.. hehehe)
kaya nga minsan i feel bad na i cant go thru all the threads in one day.. busy kasi at work, so pag wala me reply sa isang thread most prolly, i havent read it yet! grabe.. ang dami na natin dito..
You have a point. Most of us enjoy songs because they immediately hit our gut sa beat pa lang. You don't have to think about our favorite songs (actually, if you think about our favorite songs, you'll be offended. She bangs, anyone?)
What about creating comics that immediately hit the gut? Won't that let comics reach the reach of popular music?
Something to think about. Hm.

everybody's art evolves through time. from beerkada to pugad baboy to Danger Girl to anybody's art. you'll always learn something new, meet new artists , learn new styles and meld it with your own.

and to add up... you can produce something very unique and very inspiring that you, as an artist, can only create. not all artist can be influential and inspiring...
