i believe everybody is aware of the recent news about elections, i know this
might not be a good time to discuss politics since there are storms hitting the
country relentlessly. its just that ive been having these disturbing thoughts
for a while. now. ERAP IS RUNNING FOR THE PRESIDENCY AGAIN! ive been watching
his statement, most of it is grudges about the current administration. he was
conspired at, jailed and removed from the country's highest position. he was
also convicted of various crimes such as bribery, laundering of funds,
corruption and allegedly murder(which in my opinion questionable but im not
ruling out the possibility). im also comparing ForEx. its not as high as today
but it fluxes like AC..im no economist but...anyway proven a gambler, drunkard,
womanizer,and a brute. now if anyone can explain to me WHY PEOPLE ARE VOTING AND
STILL PLEDGES TO VOTE FOR ERAP please enlightened me now.
dont worry. i also read various GOOD and GREAT things erap did such as
infrastructures, boost in pinoy morale, and a quite decrease in poverty levels. but he was ousted by the people in EDSA 2, Convicted by numerous judges in his trials (though again like he said, he was
conspired), vindicated by the church and also by foreign countries.
now why would other filipinos vote for erap knowing all of these?
i know, gloria is also being charged of almost the same charges erap got(though
i dunno if its luck or shes plain good finding a way out of it)
Chiz,noynoy,villar might also have stains and definitly not perfect. i know i sounded ANTI-erap, but im just gathering the facts that ive learned. we
cant say that the media is bias. also ive based it on what im seeing on everyday
lives. im just looking for an explanation on why would people vote for him. no offense to pro erap. im not perfect either i know. but...its like carlo j
Aside from the Man of the masses image he propagated through the characters he played in the Big Screen, I can say for now that Erap hasthe charm, charisma and the diplomatic skills even if he has a reputation for being brash and mangling the English Language

1. EDSA 2 didn't happen. The person who took over fooled us.
2. GMA pardoned Erap that's why Erap is suddenly "kind" about the current government.
3. How many millions of pesos will be plundered? How many people will disappear?
4. Erap is an effin' sneak, see Cory Aquino burial, etc.
5. I'd rather see Noynoy as the president. Have you seen how much Villar earned using his brains? How much action have we seen with Chiz? I'd rather see imperfect people rather than history repeating itself.

Polskie: It's more of a personality trait than something to do with his acting skills. What's scary about Erap is his charm and charisma that will make you trivialize EDSA II.
Either way, I don't like to vote for Erap not primarily because of his lack of English proficiency nor because he seems to have carried himself like a Mafia boss.
I see Erap as polarizing figure. He would rather demonize the sectors of society who did not revolve around his social circle effectively causing division and either side demonizing each other.
What we need is someone who can really bring this country together after the strife of 2 years of Erap and 9 years of Gloria

are you saying that people IS attracted to erap nonetheless? but if we think hard enough and let logic rule, wont we come up to a conclusion that he is a bad choice? im talking about the people who shouts ERAP PARIN. why wont they see? (im deliberately ignoring the rule about freedom to choose. perhaps for me its such a bad choice)
@Frag: number one is SO true...i kinda feel betrayed as well (i was there). t'was a good experience though. kinda like "stimulating" at that moment.. but come to think of it now....errrr...
Many of those who are easily attracted to him do not have the benefit of a quality formal education. Furthermore, they are not able to enjoy wide employment opportunities nor adequate access to food, healthcare nor decent housing
This leaves them susceptible to anyone who can promise the above or plays the dirty game of patronage and transactional politics.
However, they represent a significant chunk of the voting population and that makes Erap a threat.

exasperated na rin ako sa psyche ng pinoy masses. we do have a thing for pain. we have undergone several social upheavals....but remained ignorant. if erap makes it to the seat again..... i would find ways to abandon the sinking ship.

hahaha. i grew older because of this thread. ive seen one of his kick offs, i was laughing my ass off. hes a natural. pero after the event. parang walang nangyari. ill still spat on the guy if i had the chance. hahaha
kinda like miriam.. senate will be sad without her. im not saying shes JUST plain funny or anything..=) smile!
