Blast from the past: Remembering FUNNY KOMIKS (What's your favorite Funny Komiks Character?)

superkati know most of us (if not all) like to read comics like Beerkada, Carpool, Pugadbaboy, etc. But even before these comicbooks existed, there was already a comic book Filipino children and even adults enjoyed to read. And that is "Pilipino Funny Komiks." For those who're not familiar with Pilipino Funny Komiks, it's a comic book which is composed of different comic book characters and stories (And they are all in Tagalog). I think it's quite popular in the late 1970's up to the late 1990's. But I stopped it's publication in 2004. Anyways, here's a short info:

PILIPINO FUNNY KOMIKS is the oldest running comic book for kids published in the Philippines, released weekly by Islas Filipinas Publishing Co., Inc. Its maiden issue appeared on June 26, 1978. Each issue was an anthology of comics strips for children which included works of some of the great Filipino cartoonists, like Larry Alcala and Roni Santiago. Most of the stories were self-contained while others were serial in nature. The stories were geared towards kids, but certainly adults would have enjoyed the satire that some of the artists incorporated into their work.

  • Niknok (      ) w: Pat V. Reyes; a: Vic Geronimo
  • Planet Opdi Eyps (197smile.gif w: a: Roni Santiago
  • Si Dax at ang Kaniyang Kagila-gilalas na Adventures (1981-1982) w: Joey Martinez; a: Buddy Gernale
  • Superdog and His Pal Tuting (1983) w: Christian del Cruz; a: Roni Escaurriaga
  • Superkat (1978-1983) w: a: L.S. Martinez
  • Toyang Talangka (1978) w: Rico Bello Omagap; a: Czar Bautista
And one of my favorite: Combatron (not the laxative).

yey! i remember nung mga grade 1 or 2 yata un.. may classmate pa akong ngpapa-rent ng funny komiks.. o kaya bibigyan mo siya ng stationery para makahiram.. ^_^ tapos diba pwede din magpadala ng drawing mo at ipprint nila yun sa "this is your page".. hehe
 
ang naalala ko talagang characters sila niknok at superkat..

yup. nasa 1800+ na yung bilang nung komik. just two months ago. nakakita ako. around 18 pesos sya.

I used to like Force 1 Animax kaso pangit ng ending... namatay sila lahat dahil pinasabog yung eroplano na sinasakyan nila.. I guess, wala na maisip na magandang ending yung artist kasi paalis na rin yata siya ng pinas... :(

nagpapadala din ako dati dun kaso hindi yata napipili.. di yata nila gusto artwork ko.. haha!

Favorite ko combatron, tinay pinay, A.X (sana maglabas sila ng kumpleto nito), kid komet etc. i still have a bunch of funny komiks in my room. gusto na nga nila itapon e pero sinabi ko ayoko sayang

Merun pa pala nun? Puro kasi song hits na lang nakikita ko sa dating stall sa me amin na lagi merun benta nun eh XD Favorite ko si Combatron, Niknok, Tinay Pinay. Medyo burned my eyes to death sa AX...un ung Rayearth riddled na series di ba? I had some Mandarin language Rayearth comics kaya medyo di ko na take ung blatant copying mula dun...ToT
