This is where we pay tribute to Beerkada and how it came to be part of our lives. Like, none of us would be lurking here if we weren't fans. Yes, I said it.
This is where you post how this comic strip caught your attention and got you hooked. Let the beer flow!
I actually got to know the strip through Beerlenium (the older edition without the Ryan Orosco Cover), which I browsed at National Katipunan.
I am an Inquirer reader which is why I never got to follow the strip on a daily basis unlike A Lipin, Kiko Machine and Pugad Baboy. But that was then. The new daily strip on the site is a very big help for me to catch up with the strip.

Breast milk is best for babies.Priceless.My family were avid readers of The Phillipine Star long before Beerkada comic strips appeared. Where can i find it?Still available pa ba sa mga comic stores?
I also came from the Engineering Department which i take Chemistry during my college years.I'm familiar about Glenn's dealings in his school life which some of the experiences are actually based on a true story gaya ng.... skipping classes para manood ng bomba....hehehe
Happy 10th anniversary and another decade more! Please bring back Dana.I miss her na.

hehe kelan kaya magkka EB kasama ang new batch of beerkadets? that would be nice.. :D salamat kayy pol for lending me his fantakada and go beerkada to me if not for that eh malamang hindi din ako mgiging avid reader nito hehe
I first saw Beerkada as soon as it came out in the Philippine Star, but during that time, I simply couldn't be bothered. I found it to be moderately funny, but since I was making the transition from the comics, I didn't pay too much attention to it.
That all changed with one comic strip, which you can find in BEERLENIUM. It's that bit with Glen carrying his toiletries back to his room because he still thinks he's at the dorm. I don't know why, but the first time I read that strip, I laughed my ass off. At that point, I was officially hooked. And I'm glad to note that L has managed to make me laugh out loud a few more times after that.
And yes, there was the Beerkadets eGroup, the first few couple EBs, hooking up with a Beerkadette, and all those 12am marathon sessions at L's place. It's been a memorable 10 years.
The first beerkada book i read was Beerkwatro and it was an accident, when Me and my friend were making kalkal his magic the gathering in Franco st, tondo, nahulog lahat ng books na nakapatong (Merong kubori complete issues at isang street fighter comis pati hentai nya), the black book got my attention, hindi nya rin pla alam na beerkada book un, keya we read it.
Para kaming engot nung nasa shot kami, we were laughing at the corner... thus the addiction occured XD
By the way, my favorite strip is Fluency were the enlightening words were "no kidney!!!, yu is-peak fluid english too?"
Sa library namin sa U.P. Baguio maraming dyaryo na pwedeng basahin (and this was about 1998). Naka-relate ako sa Beerkada, and got especially hooked with the Pebbles storyline. I thought na kung may mga compilation ng Pugad Baboy, then there's bound to be one for Beerkada, kaya't inabangan ko yung Beerlenium to find out more as to what happened to the Glen/Pebbles story arc. Pero wala pala dun - so I had to get Beerkados to get all the details.
10 years and 9 books later (I have both original Beerkados and the reprint, as well as the other 7 books), I'm still loving the exploits of the Beerkada gang. HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY BEERKADA!

letsee.. my first memory with beerkada (that i can remember now) was during a book signing at AS Walk.. i was looking for a gift for my exbf then.. and there was this line at a table where people where getting their caricatures! and so i bought treskada, with my caricature on it. ang isip ko nun, mukha akong mataba sa caricature ko.. and so nerdy looking with my glasses.. tapos parang ang sungit nung author (sobra bz kasi sa dami ng tao).. in any case.. after that, i think i joined the mailing list/aristocart.. then i bought the other books, including doug and kitten (which is currently missing.. did anyone from here borrow my copy???) ..i really liked doug n kitten.. i thought, wow, may sweet and nerdy side pala yung author (LOL) akala ko coño lang sya (inglishero kasi).. after that i joined the forums.. went to ebs.. and the rest is history.. :p
Sentihan, Bi? My own beerkada story is worthy of it's own Maalaala Mo Kaya episode. To people who hate long tales and/or mushy stuff, you have been forewarned.
I had recently graduated from college (eng'g) and have been missing my own barkada, since our group had been scattered liberally across the nation for our jobs. Then, I saw the very first strip in the Philippine Star while looking for my daily dose of The Far Side. As soon as I saw the word 'Eng'g', I was intrigued. From that very first strip on, I would open the Phil Star looking for Beerkada. L's cartoonized UP campus and its nutty residents reminded me very much of my own beloved USC-TC campus, and the Beerkada was practically an amalgam of my own friends' personalities. Glen was very like my best friend-a great guy who was on the torpe side, and even kind of stalked his crush. And Alan reminded me a lot of my ex whom I'm still good friends with. I think it was KenMikaze who commented that I was a 'human beerkada archive'. maybe it had something to do with the fact that in those early days preceding email, text-messaging and friendster, I'd re-read my beerkada books whenever I miss my college friends and lifestyle. I may be a freshie in this forum, but i've been a Beerkadet even before the term was coined.
my classm8s in highschool were reading beerkada, but i didnt give it attention, then came my girlfriend, she lend me a very dusty and kinda wet beerlenium, she said its good for toilet reading. and it was! that was in 2002, im in bulacan pa. then ive shown the book 1-4 to pilandok, i think it was on 2005. i was in tondo. im already an avid reader. then 2006-2007 ive lend some books to roachy, hence 2008 ive become a member of the forum. dang, ive known lyndon's work for 7 years and been reading it for 6yrs.yet kakasali ko lang sa forum.
habertday,habertday,habertday....7 more of those to make 10 beerkada!!
Meh... Dahil mas madalas ako noong magbasa ng Star, 'yun ang una kong hinahanap (second to the Business Section XD).
My first Beerkada was Go-Beerkada, na nabili ko sa UP many years ago (and signed by L).
friend ko nagrecommend sakin ng beerlenium. my favorite part was the ROTC kaya ayun nahook ako.
hmm..maybe not that touched (im a guy,not a manly word XD) nakarelate ako sobra.
i was given a sine!and was turned on! flipflopped and biased all around!now im on my conventional loop and discharging my surge of emotions! beerkada brought back my uplink/downlink to college humor (and after those) my transmission cells are heighten! it can never be laplaced!!!
I first saw beerkada during my 2nd year in highschool. There was a marathon of school programs and classes were suspended to give way. (I don't know why they do that. Classes are way more important) Then I saw one of my classmates reading beerlenium. I borrowed it, and finished it that day. I laughed my head out and it was a good thing people were too busy to notice me. The addiction began. I searched different branches of NBS for beerkada books. Unfortunately, just when my collection was almost complete, my cousin lost my fantakada and beerkuwatro. I have never lended my beerkada books to anyone else ever since.
