Any uprising against the Arroyo regime is doomed to fail for the following reasons:

1) Apathy from the Filipino People; there is no better option for the Philippine presidency right now.
2) A rise in arms isn't complete with the uprising of the People.
3) The opposition isn't coherent in their actions nor are they truly united
4) the AFP and PNP, either loyal to their duties or strangely attracted to the dimunitive queen bee's promising honey, would be there to quell any uprising.
5) a Time-Proven anti-thesis for the CPP-NPA-NDF; They have no balls nor the ability to truly lead a nation.
6) Trillanes is a delusional megalomaniac who's only support is a handful of dissidents.

The lower classes are too busy trying to earn a living to worry about things like that.

The middle class is likewise and would rather do their nation building through non-political means (eg Gawad Kalinga) otherwise, they're busy trying their luck at immigrating to some British Commonwealth or review for the Nursing Board Exams and or NCLEX/CGFNS

As for the soldiers and the cops, they will have to play the professionalism card. My sources tell me, the plot was uncovered beforehand. The DND/DILG decided to have fun by letting the party push through with reduced effect. Known sympathetic troops were deployed in areas where their movements can be easily monitored and contained if they decided to join Trillanes' little soiree.

As for Trillanes should he be President? Take a look at Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. That's what he may become

I said it before and i'll say it again. What Trillanes and the people did were stupid. Is he planning to take over all the 5 star hotels in Makati?? Galing din namang pumili kung san magtatago di ba? Pano kaya kung ganun ang gawin ng mga MILF sa Mindanao?

to the media: they say they've been harassed but i can't sympathize with them much. they are hiding behind their 'media persona which nobody should question' hello?? mas marami pa kaya kayo dun sa mga nag-ra-rally dun?

You know what will happen if GMA resigns or removed from presidency? the opposition plus other people who think big of themselves would be fighting over each other for the position. THEN, whoever wins, will now have the troubles that GMA is facing.. attacks and attempts to replace him/her with some other person. And the vicious cycle goes on and on again.

GMA is indeed the best option for now. And I believe that if the filipino people, business companies, the opposition, masses, middle income people, etc just support her even a tinsy weensy bit.. She would be able to accomplish a whole lot more.

I totally agree with ms. lei. as for pgma, we have no option left but to bear with it.... who's going to replace her? (as a country...we're cursed to have such leadership). Better be with a devil that you know...than an 'angel' that you do not know. May God help us all!

let our leadership torn themselves usunder; let us not be affected. DI nyo ba alam me protest na naman dito sa thailand against their parliament, pero di apektado ang general public, tapos di pa publicized kasi ang media, restricted, and they don't give a damn about media repression kasi they know what they do will affect the country.

hindi po ako maka GMA but she is doing her best. and as a citizen, we should at least make an effort.

to the media people, magkakapatayan na ayaw pa niyo umalis. eh kung nagkabarilan na at nadamay kayo? sino sisisihin niyo? GMA pa rin... mas mabuti ng ialis na kayo sa pinakamadaling paraan kahit na medyo alanganin kesa maipit kayo sa gulo. pero pasalamat pa rin si TRillanes at Lim sa media...

"I am sorry..." wahahaha, si Trillanes... wahahaha "Sana ay mapatawad ako ng taong bayan..." wahahaha... ewan ko lang pero medyo comic dating sa akin. Trillanes supporters pasantabi lang po.
