I think a lot of Beerkadets have travelled all over the Philippines, and all over the world (and some Beerkadets live outside the Philippines).
I thought of making a new sub-forum here for travel but I thought that it would be better if we can create some travel advice and tips posts on the Philippines here. It would also help encourage people to visit our country.
If you've got tips for other countries, try please post here
Let me know if you've posted there okay? Would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!
Bah, the forum is boring. (My apologies in advance to anyone I'm offending.) And no worries; if I post, I wouldn't be doing so for a button.
I'd post on Manila if I wouldn't be saying like "A real trip to Manila is going into the heart of it: the knit communities that reflect the simple lifestyle of the Filipino, the welcoming malls around almost every corner that entice the spender in us, the packed schools that remind us how overpopulated we are. Luneta is only the ideal." I'm not much of a traveler as well so I doubt I could write about anywhere else.

HELLO, I'M ICE. AND YOU ARE? http://adi.euro.tm - Well-written role-play, anyone?
I travel alot :D hehe, field work kasi akow. Pero with in Luzon lang, I have been in Laguna to his deepest parts, To batangas, to cavite, to las pinas, to makati, to quezon city, to iba zambales, to bulacan, to pampanga, to subic and many more :D
One experience is that when i traveled at Canlubang, Laguna. There is this beautiful girl, great face nice curves, pero nung umupo laki ng tyan. XD hehe. any ways (bat napunta ung babaeng un sa usapan) The travel was quite a long travel, sa tondo pa ko galing, ( besides TUTUBAN Mall kasi ako nakatira). I rode a jeep papuntang Avenida to ride the LRT, then i went to Magallanes to meet my companion there... On the bus, nagkwentuhan kami about some bus experiences, nakwento ko na pag kasama ko ung isang technical din namin and we are in a 3 seater, parehas kaming uupo sa magkabilang dulo and when a beautiful lady will seat, she would probably seating between us. hehe, Tapos gnawa nga namin, but ung kasama ko, ang pinaupo nya is a lady na medjo nasa mid40 na ata and not so pretty at medjo mukhang matrona. Then he said, "O yan katulad ng request mo ah" Manganinganing batukan ko ung kasama ko. hehe. Then we went to RC cola and removed viruses there. The best part in my travel is going home, I rode a non Aircon bus (which is what I realy preffered to ride, lalo na pag sa probinsya ang byahe para makalanghap ng sariwang hangin.) Funny is that the driver drove very fast and the person infront of me, makikita mong d na makadilat sa sobrang hanging tumatama sa mata nya, gGood thing is that I am wearing my eye glasses, so less air collision.
Un lang po, hehe, dami pa kong experiences about traveling XD
I want a button.... yeah, what i did was, I tried cross countrying thailand and cambodia (at least, I just went to the border, but the trip was exhillirating. make sure you have a hoard of bonamine if you're going on a road trip...
how to get nice food in bangkok? don't try the restaurants... try the street food... they're really delicious.
nice place to travel in indochina....
malaysia, vietnam, laos... if you dare, myanmar, the place is too idyllic.
Has anybody here tried road trip from Ilocos down to General Santos City via the Leyte-Samar route? And then travel the route that cuts to Boracay on the way back? Am planning to do that juts before I lay my hat (the date of which and with whom is still unknown). That would be one hell of a road trip

would be really nice if you guys post your thoughts on the travel forum.. i know it looks pretty plain, alright boring now.. but if we get the discussion going, it would be more lively :)
Welcome back, ms lei.... the forum sure seem so different without you. Or every thread I should say...like something's amiss....until now
during my stint in samar...one can ride in a boat to get to a town upstream. At times when you get to the part where it's too rocky, all passnegers would have to disembark, lift the boat bayanihan-style and walk it beyond the rocky portion...then ride on it again.

hi... I hope someone could help me here. I'm planning to go to Baguio with officemate from "Dubai". They have this idea that Baguio is one hot tourist spot. Unfortunately, I have no idea how and where to stay. Could someone help me with the ff:
1. When is the best time to go to Baguio. Between February to March? 2. How much is the fare, from Manila to Baguio? 3. Any place good or recommendable place to stay for 2-3 nights? 4. Could some give a rough estimate for the budget?
I tried to inquire in the Travel site but I still got no reply. Sorry Ms Lei...
1. Avoid peak season. Namely, summer. Other than that, it's all the same. 2. Manila to Baguio is P380, one way. Victory Liner, Cubao. 3. Well, there's Micortel, near the Victory Liner Baguio station. But if this place still exists, you have to stay at Mile Hi Inn. It's inside Camp John Hay and it's cheap! Try this number. +63(74) 446-6141. There are a number of transit lodging places there, but I'm afraid I can't help you there. 4. If you're willing to rough it out, P7000 should cover you for 2-3 days. That includes your bus fare, hotel accommodations, and spending money. I think.

woah that was fast...
hmmm... I was thinking about the transportation. But I think I will choose the commute style (cheaper). I am planning for a trip at the end of february or early March, would that week still be okay?
and psycho, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE INFO!!! I WOULD LOVE TO HUG RIGHT NOW IF I CAN... BUT...
I just been to Baguio, spur of the moment and all. I stick to everything I posted. Microtel is fantastic! Thumbs up! So far, it's the best hotel in Baguio that's not called Manor or Baguio Country Club! And Frag is right about pre-reservation.
