We woke up this morning feeling good and excited as we wanted to meet the sunshine with a walk in the park with our dog... Bailey, a Lhasa Apso... Our house is just 5 minutes away from The Fort. When we reached the entrance, the guard told us that we cannot enter the vicinity as they BAN the presence of the dogs from OUTSIDE The Fort. That means if your dog is not a resident of The Fort, you cannot just enter the vicinity... We asked the guard and he told us that the residence (from the condos) filed for complaint thus banning the dogs from the outside.
We asked the guard where can ask for further explanation as we wanted to see the detailed information about the DOG BAN. He even contacted his superior when we asked for a telephone number for further information. What I hated most is the tone of his superior on the radio. We were treated as if a low class citizen of the Philippines. So I just said never mind. There's no point in getting an explanation from a person whose not willing to explain the details.
We left the area disappointed. We are planning to have a breakfast and stroll with Bailey at the Park. They spoiled the plan.
We understand.
That's true. We understand the point of The Fort. There might be some people who doesn't clean the mess of their pets. As a responsible pet owner of Bailey, we respect the area and we even bring appropriate things when we stroll at the park. Tissue paper and extra newspaper to clean the mess. We keep our pet clean.
We cannot understand.
1. The Fort could have announced this on public. Either TV or print... or they can put a billboard at the entrance as what they usually do..
2. The guards should be more friendly in explaining the details. We are not rich, but they don't have the right to treat us that way. Since we do not have car when we get inside the are, does that make us poor? I'm sorry to say, but i can compare the tax that I pay to their salary.
3. What happened to the pet friendly community? Pet friendly if you are a resident of the area.
With this experience, I took a step further. I don't know if I made the right move. I contacted GMA news and inform them of the situation.
My point is... they could have inform the public. that's what I told GMA news... this would allow The Fort to notify the public of their ordinance... they could have submitted a press release...
We understand that THE FORT is a private property and they have the right to implement any policies, we respect them for that.
The question now is, what if we entered the area with a cab or private car? Will they let us out of the area if we are shopping with our dog? We are considered as a customer. I believe that the stores will lose a lot of customers with dogs, especially that they are saying that they are a pet friendly area.
Banning is not the answer, being a responsible owner is the resolution.
This is sad.. but it's not an isolated event.. For whatever reasons.. some management people are just not trained enough to be a manager.. at the same time, the staff are also not trained to handle situations like these where consumers/people have requests/complaints.
Proper education and information dissemination is really a must.
Cute pa naman ng dog mo.. Parang dog ko! (hehe.. proud dog owner).
hindi lang aso ang bawal. pati mga bike! e panu kami nag lalaro ng bike? siguro iniisip nila pag me naaksidente e kargo nila kasi nag papaikot kami ng bike e.. im a flatlander!
it's so sad lang talaga... na maraming nagpupunta sa the fort because of the ambiance and it's really a good place for bonding... i'm currently getting in touch with the real estate manager ng Global City, The Fort.. which happened to be the husband of my former officemate... sabi niya di daw bawal ang aso.. yung mga enforcer daw hindi nag eexplain ng maayos or iniintindi yung memo.. in fairness.. yung asawa ng officemate ko yung nagbababa ng memo... hehehe....
Oo nga Chompy... big girl na yung baby ko ngayon.. hehehehe.. ayan sa bahay na lang siya muna.. deprived sa gala...
Hindi daw bawal ang aso.. but we have to follow the following
1. dapat naka leash ang doggie 2. hindi sosobra ng 2 meters ang aso.. 3. dapat may dala tayong vaccination papers at plastic for the poop 4. kung malaki ang aso, dapat may busal din.
thanks gx.. i'll ask my friend about it....see they cannot even say that to the other people.. feeling ko tuloy dahil di kami naka car at naglalakad lang kami papasok eh... ginanyan kami...
PsychoCow... I did that actually but it didn't work.... i think i'm about to create conflict.. mahirap na baka barilin ako.. mahirap makipag argue sa may baril.. hahahahahaha
well, sa Mall of Asia we were asked if Q Power Station would be OK to the "Dog Friendly" sticker - meaning that we allow dogs inside the store. Our boss says it's OK. I don't think it's OK since dogs could make a mess of the machines. There was an instance in eastwood that while a girl was playing with here friends they didn't notice that their dog made poo-poo in the store.
P.S. Do you really have to bring your dog everywhere you go?
hi Syeri... i don't bring my dog with me all the time... it's just our usual morning walk at the park... even myself.. i always bring paperbag kahit na lumalabas lang kami sa haws just in case he would poop sa street.. nakakaablala namankasi... even if we go to the vet.. i let my dog wear a diaper baka umihi kasi sa taxi... alam mo yun.. being a responsible owner lang.... i was not able to bring my dog sa mall of asia.. even though andun yung office namin... ayoko na rin kasi ng gulo... hehehe
Well .. I'm happy to say that the issue had been resolved. I already talked to the real estate manager and everything was fixed.. nakagala na kami ni Bailey sa the Fort.. hehehehe.. caSE CLOSED.
