Evanescence split up

Two members of Evanescence have exited the band, leading to speculation about the future of the group, reports NME.com.

According to guitarist John LeCompt he was fired from the band. He also said drummer Rocky Gray had quit.

LeCompt said: "I'm done and I'm pretty upset about it.(Singer) Amy (Lee) called and fired me today. There's absolutely no loyalty in this band."

The guitarist said he was putting all his energy in his new band with Gray called Machina.

A posting on his blog he wrote: "Around 3:30 pm yesterday I recieved a call on my cell from Amy. This call wasn't from a friend who appreciated me but from an enemy who was prepared to hurt me and my family. Without any warning or negotiotiations for my future, I was fired for no good reason. We have not always seen eye to eye on everything, but who does?

"Our common goal was always the same. To make Evanescence the best rock band it could ever be. I have always given blood, sweat and tears to make that happen but apparently that is not enough. I have now become just another of the people fallen by the wayside on the revolving door of her life. It's funny how many of us there are now. I guess it's good for lyrical content, though. Maybe I will be among the blessed to have a song written about me, too. Maybe the song will be 'Call Me When You're Broke'."

Later Rocky Gray issued another statement regarding his departure from the band: "Amy Lee's management emailed me last night to tell me that, in their view, the contract I signed to record, perform and tour with the group says that I'm not allowed to have any free speech in regard to Evanescence," Gray said from his home in Arkansas. "The way they spin it, I'm not even allowed to say I quit the group, I guess. But the news is out there, so, there ya' go. I need to have a lawyer read over all that mess to tell me what, when and how I can tell you all -- the REAL FANS -- what really went down, if I ever can, haha."

In 2003 guitarist Ben Moody left and in July 2006 bassist Will Boyd left the group.

1,683 Guitarists Play Smoke on the Water

On June 4, 1,683 guitarists descended on the outfield of CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas, in an effort to shatter the world record for the most people playing the same song simultaneouslyand they did it. The song was Deep Purples Smoke on the Water, and the record was previously set back in 1994, when 1,323 people played the same song in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The event was put on by the Kansas City radio station KYYS (99.7 FM) after one of its morning show hosts, Tanna Guthrie, came up with the idea. You never know if you can pull something like this off, she said.

In order to break the recordwhich still needs to be verified by Guinnessall 1,683 guitarists had to perform the songs signature opening riff for five straight minutes.

Players came from all over the world to participate, with ages ranging from grade school to grandparents.

I thought it was going to be kind of cheesy, said Hannah Koch, a Prairie Village, Kansas, guitar player who played while dressed in an elf costume. But after I got here I got caught up in the excitement of it.

hindi pa ata confirm ung rivermaya news eh.. wala pa atang formality.. but i heard na Rico is going solo.. and the rest of the band are having this reality-like TV show to fill up Rico's place.. sana magbago pa ung isip ni Rico.. meron dn sya atang bagong clothing line na kanya.. that was the business thing na narinig nyo.. at hindi lang sya ung natitirang original na Rivermaya.. Andun pa si Mark - the mukhang totoy na drummer.. hehehe..
kaya nga weird nung lastest album nila kasi halos dun ay tribute sa mga ibang artists.. its like wala silang may sinulat na kanila.. bigat sa hart talaga.. :(

but i think the rest of the band have the every right to call themselves RIvermaya.. kahit si MArk na lang ung natitira.. hindi sila ung nang iwan. sila ung iniwanan.. i just hope na walang grudges sa ibang members..
sana ung PNE hindi ma u-undergo tong break ups na to! eheads was a painful memory then eto pa ngaung Rivermaya! langya!

Orange & Lemons sings "Oh my darlin' Clementine" just a few more times

It's probably the season of the ex-Band Frontmen. And it seems we've developed two forms of the species. There's the frontman who storms off in a huff, pursuing other interests and/or a solo career. Then there's the occasional odd tale of the frontman who gets kicked off by his bandmates but holds on for dear life, kicking and screaming all the way. The strange tale of Clementine Castro, late of the pop band Orange & Lemons was an example of the latter, but thanks to the magic of contractual obligations, he's managed to hold on for an entire US tour as the band barnstorms its way across four cities.

i read that Clem was still trying to stay with the band.. pero hindi na daw talga pwde..
so sad if you think bout it..

parang ayaw nya pa sana kaso wala na.. :(
meron dn akong nabasa before the formal announcement from Clem na he said he cannot be "evicted" out from the band since meron dn syang intellectual right na nabigay sa song writing, et cetera.

Jot: Tama ka diyan! Commitment is one of the factors that will make you big in the business. Musicality is needed of course but at the same time you must be professional. That's why I think the whole "I'm a rockstar and I can do whatever I want" attitude is Horse$#!+.

well said.. ngayon mapapatawad ko pa ang mga pagiging late nila, nagaaral pa kasi kaming lahat, pero after school, a schedule is a schedule..

The funeral will be held sa Saturday at Modena's cathedral..

actually, that is not a pinoy habit, thats a spanish habit we inherited back on the spanish colonialization era..

pavarotti passed away, its so sad that he belongs to the legends now, I mean, he a living legend no more..

Orange and Lemons disbands!!

ITS official. Popular band Orange and Lemons finally decided to disband effective September 29, 2007.

A letter sent to Universal Records, the group and its management, No Seat Affair represented by Roldan Bong Baluyut, said: We finally decided to disband Orange and Lemons due to individual and musical differences with each other. This decision is collectively made and approved by all of us and thus, seek pre-termination of artist contract.

All Orange and Lemons members Marco Mcoy Fundales, Clemen Castro, Aldwin and Jesmer Del Mundo plus Baluyut signed the letter of disbandment.

The members of the band have individual career plans and they will announce it later.

The disbandment was announced when the second single from their Moonlane Gardens album, Fade, was about to be released.

Now Moonlane Gardens becomes a collectors item as it is Orange and Lemons farewell album.

napaka bilis naman.. anyway, Im not that affected by their disbandment, but Im affected by the fact that lots of bands disbands quickly because they just want to play in a band, like: they find someone to play with them (minsan nagpapa-audition pa), without any bond.. I believe being a member of a band means being commited to the band, everyone treats each other as a brother-who-you-play-with rather than just a mere band member..

putting aside all Britney SPear's trouble.....Britney's new vid is out...gimme more...ok, the mtv performance was a disaster...well....pati itong vid...mejo disaster din...but the song is kinda nice...there are several songs that were leaked out...cold as fire and radar is nice....check it out.
